Art of Living

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is an Indian spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers programs to promote personal and societal well-being. The Art of Living philosophy is centered on the concept of "Pancha Kosha," which means the five sheaths or layers of existence. These five sheaths are:

  1. Annamaya Kosha - the physical sheath or layer, which relates to the body and the physical world.

  2. Pranamaya Kosha - the energetic sheath, which relates to the breath and the life force energy.

  3. Manomaya Kosha - the mental sheath, which relates to the mind and emotions.

  4. Vijnanamaya Kosha - the intellectual sheath, which relates to knowledge and wisdom.

  5. Anandamaya Kosha - the blissful sheath, which relates to the experience of pure consciousness and inner peace.

The Art of Living Foundation teaches that by practicing techniques such as meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises, individuals can purify and balance these five sheaths, leading to a greater sense of well-being and inner harmony.
